Best lip balms. As many of you know I really love a gorgeous red or pink lipstick, the brighter and bolder the better. A beautiful pout is always in style. The only thing to remember is if you want kissable lips you must be taking care of them. I’m pretty lucky in that I can probably count the number of times I’ve had chapped lips, on one hand. Usually this happens when I have a very bad cold and at that point I don’t want anyone around me anyway. Even though my lips are generally in good condition, I’m not taking any chances and I apply moisturizers and conditioners on a regular basis.
Now like most of you I couldn’t possibly dream of sticking with just one product and, therefore, have a several which make my list of the best lip balms. When I’m not going out or I’m just in a casual environment, I stick with treatments that don’t have any colour. Most of them leave a nice shine on my lips and I feel that they can easily pass as lip glosses even if they aren’t quite as shiny. The bonus, however, is that the are never sticky. For pure moisture Clinique and Elizabeth Arden are probably my go to’s. If I have a cold and my skin gets very dry, I turn to Clinique Repairwear Intensive as it has a very thick consistency. It doesn’t sink in quickly and seems to create a protective barrier on my skin. I like to use Elizabeth Arden after I’ve been in the sun all day since the moisturizing effects last for hours and hours.
The lip treatment from Balea is the newest addition to my collection. I haven’t used it very much as of yet, but its scent is wonderful. It’s very hydrating and the minute I put it on I can feel the Shea Butter going to work on my skin. It feels very similar to Caudalie’s lip conditioner. Neither one is very thick or heavy and I can apply them as a base under my lipsticks.

I can’t stand to have chapped lips or dry skin! I usually use a Shea butter lip balm from Kielh’s but have never tried an actual lip conditioner. You pique my curiosity, I love Elizabeth’s Arden’s 8 hour creams…will have to check out their lip conditioner now 🙂

I swear by Dr. Pepper Lipsmackers. I know it’s kind of juvenile, but it moisturizes my lips, smells (and tastes) good, adds a nice tinted gloss, and also works well when I put it on before applying lipstick. 🙂 I also like using Blistex products, particularly the ones that make my lips feel tingly!

I’ve used the Elizabeth Arden one for years! Just wish it didn’t smell so bad. I haven’t tried the Clinique one yet though. For a cheap one, I love the Blistex Five Star Lip Protection, especially since it has SPF 30. It smells really good and is really silky. I wear it in the summer. I’ve also become obsessed with the Nivea lip butters. The Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss is the best smelling thing I’ve ever tried. (Can you tell I’ve got a thing for how lip products smell? lol)
That’s funny because I don’t mind the Elizabeth Arden one at all….. Blistex makes great products too and I agree that generally I like my balms to have an SPF, that’s so important!

I’m looking forward to reading about the lip scrubs; I feel like all of the product I use tends to dry my pout – especially in the dry months of winter. They’re not chapped per se, but could use a good exfoliation! I’ve been sticking with a Smashbox product but would love try try something new…
I was very diappointed in the Caudalie one..usually great products but this one was a fial for me just didn´t moisturieze deep enough!

You’re absolutely right, I find that it doesn’t moisturize very deeply so that’s why I layer it underneath my lipsticks. xo
Since my lips are super dry and they need constant care I find Clinique products unique.

You know, i was always asking myself – why spending so much money on a {lip balm} made by those high-end brands. Is it really worth the money & hype?
Hearing from you, that there is really a difference between how it feels on the lips and how well they moisturize, i might give it a second thought.
On the other hand, here are so many different kind of natural organic brands, that make their special natural ingredients lip care produts, that i’m rather tempted to get one of those, if you know what i mean.
Right now i’m using the Lip Balm papaya by Greenland, that i talked about in my last post of may. I tried Burt’s Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm With Kokum Butter before and really liked it too. What other drugstore lip care would you recommend??
I’ve been using NIVEA lip balms for years and I’ve never been so satisfied with a lip balm ever 🙂
I tried changing it once or twice, but it was a bad idea.
The one brand I always, always look forward to is The Body Shop, even though they are hard to find here in Bulgaria.
I like all their moisturizing products, they work very well with me 🙂

You can never have enough lip balms! Have you heard of jack black? It is mostly a mens skincare line but their lip balm is seriously the best, you don’t have to reapply so often and they have various flavors to choose from. Also, suvana paw paw & honey balm is for chapped dry lips and any other areas that are dry, so it’s a versatile. Great post! xx
