LA PARFUMERIE: MY PERFUMES
Perfumes. As I’ve been doing my fall cleaning I was a little bit shocked to see how many perfumes I’ve managed to collect. I never, ever want to be one of those people who walks into an elevator causing everyone to immediately hold their breath. I do, however, like a nice light scent.
I find that I’m quite particular about what scents I like, I usually go for more classic perfumes. Coco Mademoiselle is one of my favourites, my fall back perfume that I’ve worn for years. Recently, however, I found that so many others are wearing the same one so I went on a search to find a signature scent. I decided to skip the department store counters because they are pretty much all the same and my budget didn’t afford me a very high end perfume.
I’ve also found that a lot of perfumes make me sneeze, maybe an allergy? I don’t really know but I can’t actually handle a lot of them on me.
In my search I discovered The Perfume Shoppe. I made an appointment and sat down with Nazrin who promptly told me that due to my colouring I absolutely had to wear light floral scents (I had requested something more fresh). I have no idea what my colouring has to do with any of this but sure, I’m game, I’ll bite. Up until this point I never gravitated to florals knowingly but she quickly showed me how delicate they can be. After a while I chose Eau de Circe 05 by Parfumerie Generale. I love it! The scent is so delicate and light, I wear it day and night and while I might chose something a little heavier for the winter this one can definitely be a year round choice for me!
Yes I have two bottles but I really, really needed the smaller one since I was doing a lot of traveling earlier this year. I highly recommend everyone go make an appointment at a perfume shop, the experience is at the very least a lot of fun and super interesting. There is such a huge selection out there, something for everyone!
