How to wear sequins for day. I have a secret. I love sequins. I don’t know what it is about them, maybe it’s the way they catch the light, add some glam to an otherwise basic outfit or how they make me feel, but I just can’t stay away from them. Although a sequined dress is always a fantastic choice for night, in my opinion, there’s also something about a sequined tank and some ripped boyfriend jeans paired with a sleek architectural blazer. The juxtaposition of flashy vs casual is always a win for me.
In an effort not to look like a disco ball or like you’ve just stepped out of a night club, here are a few tips on
How to wear sequins for day
Pair them with denim. Torn jeans, a matte sequined tank and a structured blazer is always an ideal choice but you can also throw a sequined cardigan over a simple t-shirt. Or you can choose a to throw a denim shirt over your top with a pair of slouchy pants. For something a little more unexpected, how about a sequined shift dress with a denim jacket.
Pair them with textures. How about a chunky knit over top a cute sequined skirt and the perfect pair of ballerina flats? This is such a pretty look for day and the ensemble tones down the naturally over the top nature of sequins. A simple cotton trench, thrown casually over a sparkly tank, is also a great option.
Go extra casual. For a very casual, downtown vibe kind of a look, how about pairing matte sequins with a plaid top? This is an unexpected look that will be sure to get you noticed.
Wear them sparingly. If you are thinking about this look, but are not quite comfortable diving in head first, simply start small. A pair of sequined booties can add a touch of glam to any outfit. You can never go wrong with a sweater interspersed with sequins or a bright glittery bag.
Now, of course, there are days when I long to throw on a tulle skirt, sequined tank and a pair of stilettos, but for now I am happy just incorporating sequins wherever I can!

I agree girl, sequins are the bomb and we should feel no shame in indulging in them! I also am a big fan of pairing them with boyfriend jeans or blazers- anything contrasting, boyish and unexpected. Ouu, and sequined shoes. Because who doesn’t love feeling like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz haha
